The “Wolf Who Cried Boy” Puppet Show

Wednesday, June 25 : 3:30 – 4:30

Willie The Wolf likes to play pranks on his friends. What happens when

Willie has to warn everyone that danger is near? Now, Willie The Wolf

needs help from the audience. No registration required. This program is

for Ages 5 and up. Sponsored and funded by the City of Aliso Viejo and

the Friends of the Aliso Viejo Library.

 

Pacific Animal Productions

Wednesday, July 2: 3:30 – 4:30

Whose tracks are these? Can you identify an animal just by looking at its

tracks? Sure you can! Let’s discover that together as we make tracks,

hop, slither, and crawl. Program located in the Aliso Viejo Library

Community Room. Free to all ages 5 and up. Sponsored and funded by

the City of Aliso Viejo and the Friends of the Aliso Viejo Library.

 

Flamenco Express

Wednesday, July 9: 3:30 – 4:30

Jessica Pacheco entertains us with a Flamenco dance show. The show

includes Classical, Spanish, Rumba and traditional Flamenco rhythms.

Audience participation will be included. Program is free to the public

age 5 and up. Sponsored and funded by the City of Aliso Viejo and the

Friends of the Aliso Viejo Library.

 

Family Matinee

Saturday, July 12: Begins at 2:00

Come, watch, and enjoy Disney’s wildly popular movie Frozen. Free!

Sponsored and funded by the Friends of the Aliso Viejo Library.

 

Story Scuttlebutt Book Club

Monday, July 14: 2:00 – 3:00

Discussion led by Claire Winograd, followed by a craft and snack.

Books are chosen by Claire and can be checked out at the circulation

desk ahead of time. Read the book and come prepared to have fun.

The club is designed for children ages 7 to 10. This program is free

and will be held in our community room.

 

Book Banter Book Club

Monday, July 14: 2:00 – 3:00

Books chosen, and discussion led by Sarita Dangond: snack included.

Check out the books ahead of time at the circulation desk. Read the

book and come prepared for stimulating conversation. This club is

free for kids age 11 to 14.

 

Orange County Animal Care Pet Awareness

Wednesday, July 16: 3:30 – 4:30

Program is free to children age 5 and up with parent.

 

Family Storytime

Thursday, July 3: 11:00 – 12:00

The vivacious National Charity League Sunshine Readers entertain!

Come join the fun at this free storytime where acclaimed actress,

community volunteer, and renowned storyteller Julia Johnson and

her team of teens lighten up your day with exciting, interactive

stories, and snack.

 

Pajama Storytime

Thursday, July 3: 7:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Julia Johnson’s Sunshine Readers present pajama storytime!

Pajama Storytime first Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm, Thursday,

July 3 and August 7 with the Sunshine Readers of the National

Charity League. Pull on your jammies and join us for bedtime stories

 

Mommy/Daddy & Me Basic Watercolor Class

Wednesday, July 16, and 24: 5:30 – 7:30

This free program is intended for children age 7 and up.

Kids! bring your Mom, or Dad, or both, and learn to paint.

Katherine Taylor, artist and renowned Orange County muralist

teaches in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Join us in our community

room, your artwork just may be displayed on our FaceBook page.

 

Mr. Twister Balloon Show

Wednesday, July 23: 3:30 – 4:30

Learn to make your own Balloon Animals and Crazy Hats with Mr.

Twister, the Balloon Man. This is a fun, interactive, hands-on

workshop where everyone gets involved! This program is for

ages 5 and up. Program sponsored by the City of Aliso Viejo and

the Friends of the Aliso Viejo Library

 

Pete Ellison’s One World Rhythm

Wednesday, July 30: 3:30- 4:30

Children age 5 and up become part of the show when

One World Rhythm issues multiple percussion instruments

to everyone. Group music making and rhythm based

events@oneworldrhythm.com activities are part of the fun!

Help us kick off our summer reading program with pizza, prizes and a
movie!
Summer Bags and Buttons
July 1 @ 3:30pm
Whip up a no-sew summer tote bag, and then decorate it with unique mini
buttons that you create!
Anime Art Workshop
July 8 @ 3:30pm
Artist Carlos Nieto III will take you through the steps to creating your very
own anime characters using basic shapes and simple techniques. All
materials will be provided.
Booked for Lunch
July 10 @ 1:00pm
We’ll provide the lunch and the movie, you just enjoy the show!
DJ Demo and Workshop
July 15 @ 3:30pm
Urban DJ Academy will be on hand to get you started on the fundamentals
of the art that is DJ culture in this hands-on workshop. Registration is
required for this event, call the library or sign up at the front desk.
The Zen of Zentangle Art
July 22 @ 3:30pm
Zentangle is an easy to learn, meditative art form created by
repeating patterns. Learn some of the basic shapes to create unique
and vibrant art. All materials will be provided.
Candy Crush
July 24 @ 3:30pm
Satisify your sweet tooth at this delicious program, where we will be
making a variety of candy treats!
Sword Scholars
July 29 @ 3:30pm
Game of Thrones fan? Master the art of the sword in this amazing
workshop based on medieval martial arts. Registration is required
for this event. Call the library or sign up at the front desk.
