Jazz on the Green
Greg Adams and East Bay Soul

The Festival of Arts will sizzle Saturday, July 12 when Greg Adams and East Bay Soul take the stage in the final Jazz on the Green concert of the summer. The Festival’s popular music series, showcases today’s most talented and recognizable jazz performers and Greg Adams and East Bay Soul are no exception. Jazz on the Green Concerts are free with Festival of Arts Admission. Limited seating is available in a reserved section for $25 per person per concert (includes Festival admission). Art of Cooking
Featuring Zov Karamardian, Restauranteur/Cookbook author

Date: Sunday, July 13
Time: 1 – 2pm
Cost: Free with Festival admission

One of the Festival of Art’s most popular weekly event series, Art of Cooking, begins Sunday, July 13 from 1-2pm with award-winning chef Zov Karamardian. Well-known for her restaurants around Orange County, she will demonstrate mouth-watering summertime recipes and share samples of her delicious dishes with the crowd.

Since opening her first restaurant in 1987, Zov has become one of the best-loved chefs/restaurateurs in Southern California with glowing reviews in Food and Wine, Sunset Magazine and the LA Times. In addition to her critically acclaimed flagship restaurant in Tustin, California, she owns and operates restaurants in Newport Beach, Irvine and two at John Wayne Airport. She also authored two best-selling cookbooks, Simply Zov and Zov: Recipes and Memories From the Heart, each of which have sold 50,000 copies.

Sunday in the Park

ADAAWE (Female Afro-Cuban band)

Sundays at the Festival of Arts features a new musical series with an eclectic mix of music from Bluegrass and Chill to Jazz/World/Classical fusion. From 2 – 4pm, Sunday in the Park will provide the perfect atmosphere to browse the art gallery, picnic on the green, or simply relax in the beautiful weather of Laguna Beach.

ADAAWE is seven women, creating an international fusion of African music, R&B/pop vocals, jazz-funk, Latin and Reggae, steeped in Gospel harmonies. Based in Los Angeles, CA., these well-skilled musicians originate from Kenya, Morocco, Israel, Panama and across the United States. Adaawe’s captivating performance is a manifestation of the power of authentic sound to elevate and inspire audiences everywhere, across all boundaries of age and demographics.

Youth Arts Education Workshops

Dates/Times: July 7 – August 29 
Mondays – Fridays, 11am & 1pm
Cost: $10 material fee/session

Bring out that creative spark in your young artist at the Youth Arts Classes this summer at the Festival of Arts. Kids will enjoy art classes taught by professional Festival artists in mixed-media, jewelry making, collage and more. Meanwhile, parents will have free time to view the artwork on display throughout the Festival grounds. Festival artists will also share some of their creative techniques in a fun and friendly environment that will inspire your kids to come back every week! Open to children ages 5 – 12. Art Talks: Lecture Series
“Mirror Mirror”

Date: Thursday, July 17
Time: 12 – 1pm
Cost: Free with Festival admission

“Art Talks” continue on Thursday July 17 with a conversation focused on the art of portraiture at the Festival of Arts from 12-1pm. A group of Festival artists, led by painter Elizabeth McGhee, will discuss how and why they select their subjects. In many cases, portraiture can be more than just capturing a likeness and the panel will explore how the artists capture emotions, personality and life into their work. This is one of several topics discussed at the Festival’s weekly Art Talks: A Lecture Series. Each Thursday between July 10 and August 28, Festival artists lead conversations about their medium, inspiration, and careers in this fascinating and stimulating series.

Art, Jazz, Wine & Chocolate

Time: 5:30 – 7:30pm
Cost: $15 in addition to Festival admission

Chocolate, wine, and all that jazz sweetens up the Festival of Arts this summer! On Thursday nights, indulge your senses at the “Art, Jazz, Wine and Chocolate” series. Sample a wide variety of Kendall-Jackson wines expertly selected to compliment and enhance the nuanced flavor of high-end chocolates from XAN Confections. The Festival’s casual and classy outdoor setting, together with the soulful sounds of jazz surrounded by fine art, creates an ideal evening for friends, sweethearts, and family.

Concerts are free; Wine and Chocolate pairings (21 and over) are $15 in addition to Festival of Arts admission. Limited concert seating available in reserved section for an additional $25 per person by calling (800) 487-3378.
