Guests to this year’s Symphony in the Cities and Prelude in the Park event on Saturday, July 26 will enjoy a cornucopia of family entertainment and fun.
The popular community event will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Olympic bicycle race in Mission Viejo and Music Director Carl St.Clair’s 25 years with the Symphony.
The Prelude in the Park kicks off at 4 p.m. with music and activities including copper embossing; a meet and greet with Olympians Brian Goodell and Julie Foudy; Torch Project; Safety Board Game; Cake Walk, mini-decathlon for kids; and many other great activities.
Local band “Then Again” will perform hit songs from the 50s, 60s and 70s.
Before the Pacific Symphony takes center stage at 7 p.m., the Musical Playground also at 4 p.m. will give kids the chance to make an instrument, play a drum, meet a musician and take part in a conducting clinic with Maestro St.Clair.
An array of food and beverages will be available for purchase. Free shuttle service from the Mission Viejo Civic Center at 200 Civic Center and Gilleran Park at 24960 Felipe Road will be available from 3 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
