The 2014 Festival of Arts’ Art of Cooking series comes to a close on Sunday, August 24 with Chef Camron Woods of The Ranch.

Formally Aliso Creek Inn, The Ranch’s restaurant, HARVEST, features old favorites with a new twist, inspired by the local flavors, ingredients and traditions of American and California Cuisine.

Chef Woods will bring his culinary talents to the Festival to demonstrate and share recipes from the new Laguna Beach resort. Cooking demonstrations are free with Festival admission.

Chef Woods oversees the Ranch’s two restaurants, as well as the banquet and catering program.

Born and raised in Charleston, South Carolina, he embarked on his culinary career at Woodlands Resort and Inn in Summerville, starting humbly as a dishwasher and eventually working his way up to Executive Sous Chef.

During the chef’s eight-year tenure at Woodlands, the resort attained world-class status and received numerous awards, including becoming the first Five Star and Five Diamond property in the state.

Active in the culinary world, Chef Woods has appeared on numerous TV news programs where he is sought out for his simple, straightforward approach to cooking. He is also extremely proud of the charitable work he has done with Mama’s Kitchen as well as the San Diego Council on Literacy’s fundraiser: Eat. Drink. Read.

“Chef Woods will be wrapping up a fantastic line-up of talented chefs featured in this year’s Art of Cooking series,” said Susan Davis, director of special events. “Sunday is your last change to watch, learn, and sample delicious recipes from a culinary expert this summer at the Festival of Arts!”
