Orange County Collective Giving Organization Anticipates Granting More Than $100,000 To Charities This Year

Impact Giving, a women’s collective giving organization based in Orange County, kicked off its sixth grant season with a breakfast for 100 women Saturday morning September 27th at the Center Club in Costa Mesa.

In its first five years, Impact Giving has granted $606,000 to 33 nonprofits both locally and globally with grants ranging from $7,000 to $40,000. The grants have impacted the lives of over 30,000 people throughout the world, according to Board Chair Ann Duncan Levy.

“All non-profit organizations that are considered for grants each year must be sponsored by an Impact Giving Partner. A Partner is what we call our members because we are all partnering together in donating,” said Duncan Levy. “We then train our Partners to review and vet the grant applications on grant committees. This helps us ensure that we are well educated on the non-profits that become grant finalists.”

The Grant Season Kick-Off Brunch included a report to the Partners reviewing how their dollars have impacted the seven organizations that Impact Giving funded during the last grant season. Susan Marx, Impact Giving Partner and Grant Chair, also gave a brief overview on the duties of a Partner who chooses to sponsor a grant application.

Impact Giving will be accepting grant application requests – sponsored by Impact Giving Partners – now through November 10. For more information on how to become a Partner-sponsored non-profit, please visit: http://impactgivingnow.org/grant-process/grant-process/.
