The City Council on Wednesday selected Bill Phillips to serve as mayor and Mike Munzing as mayor pro tem for 2015 during its annual reorganization.
This is the third mayoral stint for Phillips, who was first elected to office in 2001 and served as mayor in 2004 and 2008. Munzing was elected in 2012.
During the meeting, Council Member Dave Harrington, who was elected last month and Council Member Phil Tsunoda, who was re-elected, were officially sworn into office.
Wednesday’s meeting also included a recognition of outgoing Council Member Carmen Cave, who was feted for her longtime service to Aliso Viejo.
The City Council meets the first and third Wednesday of the month in the Council Chamber at City Hall, 12 Journey.
