The Kiwanis Club of Mission Viejo is working with the City of Mission Viejo’s Marine Adoption Committee to support the City’s adopted troops through its “See’s for Soldiers” program.
The local Kiwanis club has sold See’s Candies as its major fundraiser for more than 25 years. The money raised through candy sales goes back into the community through scholarships for graduating seniors and community service projects.
In addition, this year the public can purchase a 1-pound box of See’s Candies from a Kiwanian at a designated site and then have it shipped to a Marine deployed overseas or stationed at Camp Pendleton using the Marine Adoption Committee. In the last four years, the Mission Viejo Kiwanis has sent 1,800 boxes of candy to our Marines. (The program is not available at See’s retail stores.)
Designated sites are in front of the Pavilions in Mission Viejo at Oso and Marguerite Parkways and the Pavilions in Ladera Ranch at Antonio and Crown Valley Parkways.
The program takes place from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. December 12-14 and 18-23.
