Saddleback College’s Speech and Debate team competed at the CCFA State Championships on March 13th-16th, placing 7th overall out of approximately 41 colleges from all over California.
Saddleback’s Forensics Director Larry Radden was awarded the President’s Award for Service to the Forensics Community. This Award caps off his career as a Forensics Coach. He has helped students gain multiple Bronze, Silver and Gold Medals throughout his illustrious career. In addition to Larry’s success in Individual Events, Larry will best be known as one of the top Reader’s Theatre Directors in the country.
Coach Lucas Ochoa stated, “I was deeply honored to present the President’s Award to Larry. It was an emotional moment for me because I can’t imagine going to tournaments without Larry’s creativity, energy and knowledge of Speech.”
Coach Heidi Ochoa stated, “I am pleased with our students growth this year and am excited to see how our students peak using their observations about their competitors at this tournament. I am also ecstatic that my colleague, friend, and mentor, Larry Radden was rewarded with the CCCFA President’s Award. Much of my successes as a forensics coach can be attributed to the brilliance that he radiates when he is in coaching sessions.”
