The sights and sounds of Motown come to life in Segerstrom Center for the Arts’ free lobby activities for all ticket holders attending MOTOWN THE MUSICAL from June 16 – 28 at Segerstrom Hall. Patrons are invited to enjoy activities one hour before performances and during intermissions.
• Motown Lounge – The Fire Bird Cafe on the Orchestra Level will be converted to a lounge decked out in themed vintage décor. A DJ will play iconic tunes from the Motown era and take requests from audience members who relax and enjoy specialty cocktails. The cocktails are designed by Patina Restaurant Group and will be available for purchase.
• Photo Opportunity – Patrons can dress-up and pose for their most perfect Motown-inspired selfie in front of a Motown record label backdrop on the Orchestra Terrace Level lobby. Props and apparel will make this a most popular place to be.
• iPad Station – Located on the Orchestra Level, audiences can take a Motown quiz testing their knowledge of Motown music facts.
Guests are encouraged to share their experience by using #SCFTA and#MotownTour via social media.
Directed by Charles Randolph-Wright, MOTOWN THE MUSICAL is the true American dream story of Motown founder Berry Gordy’s journey from featherweight boxer to the heavyweight music mogul who launched the careers of Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye and so many more.
