THE ELKS ELECT NEW OFFICERS FOR THE COMING YEAR
Members, families and guests recently attended the Mission Viejo, Saddleback Valley Elks installation of officers. Outgoing Exalted Ruler Michael Holohan expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the members for a very successful year. He praised his Corps of Officers and Committee workers for the numerous charitable accomplishments of the past twelve months. Holohan singled out the Elks Bingo Charities Committee and acknowledged them for a record year of contributions to the hundreds of worthy causes they sponsor in the community. He also offered his congratulations to the incoming Corps of Officers, pledging his support and wishing them success in the coming year.
The new officers will be serving the Lodge for a term of one year. They are: Exalted Ruler Jim Humphrey, Leading Knight Pat Martino, Loyal Knight Gloria R. LeCouvre, Lecturing Knight Gail Reavis, Secretary Charles Hart, Treasurer Oliver (Newt) Seal, Esquire Howard Sargent, Chaplain Jason Spence, Inner Guard Ray Mallen, Organist Andy Costello, Trustees: Gary Smith, Nancy Allen, Harvey Boelts, Tom Banning and Gary Bennington.
In his acceptance speech, newly elected Exalted Ruler Jim Humphrey said that his motto for the year will be, “Dedication, Teamwork and Communication are the Keys to Success”. He also pledged to continue the Lodges many charitable endeavors and to maintain the spirit of cooperation and involvement the Lodge has long enjoyed with the City of Mission Viejo and the communities of the Saddleback Valley.
The local Lodge is preparing to attend the State Elks Convention which will be held in Ontario May 13 to 16th. At that time a new Elks State Vice President will be installed and six members of the Mission Viejo, Saddleback Valley Elks will assume chairmanships in the Orange County District. The six Elks named to these prestigious positions are Bill James, Andy Costello, Pat Martino, Harvey Boelts, Irene Romero and Leo Hazell.
