The awards keep rolling in for San Clemente girls’ soccer team.
Ranked as the top high school girls’ soccer team by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, they have definitely been the team to watch. With season stats of 29 wins and only 1 loss, the Triton soccer team is the first in state history to win the CIF-SS Division I and CIF Southern California Division I Regional titles.
Coach Stacey Finnerty attributes the team’s success to hard work, sacrifice, and teamwork. She believes in an old-fashioned work ethic and perseverance, and strives to make her players great, both on and off the field. Named the OC Register “Co-Coach of the Year,” her own passion for the sport has most certainly been passed on to her players.
The Triton team is composed of: Kristine Atkinson, Camille Berg, Barret Bestard, Chelsea Card, Mikaela Carrillo, Shelby Chambers-Garcia, Jennifer Chrislip, Tiffany Corder, Janae Cousineau, Francesca Coxe, Lauren Fryer, Lindsey Grant, Sheridan Hapsic, Danielle Hines, Zoe Jeffers, Madison Kaminski, McKenzie Kipe, Chelsea Loh, Alexis Mahoney, Renee Mcdermont, Kaylin Mellem, Dani Weatherholt, Kelsey Wilson, Samantha Yackley, and Greer Zerboni.
