Summer time is just around the corner and the Festival of Arts is excited to announce its newest exhibit, Fresh Faces 2016. Presenting the works of newly juried Festival artists, the exhibit will showcase a wide range of mediums including ceramics, painting, photography, sculpture, and wood. Fresh Faces 2016 runs now through June 13 at the Wells Fargo Bank in Laguna Beach.The public is welcome to join the artists for a free reception on Saturday, April 30 from 11am – 1pm at the Wells Fargo Bank.
Fresh Faces 2016 showcases a fascinating look into the world of the innovative and fresh new artwork of fifteen prestigious artists from Orange County. The artists and mediums being presented are Carla Bosch (acrylics), Tim L. Brown (mixed media), Trevor Christiansen (oils), Bill Denham (oils), William Edwards (ceramics), Lorin Charles Fleming (acrylics), Jeffery Frisch (sculpture), Linda Karagozian (oils), Keith Klafs (sculpture), Andrew C. Ko (photography), John Repka (oils), Sahar Saljooghi (sculpture), Afsaneh Taghavi (sculpture), Steve Vigar (wood) and Nakita Young (sculpture).
These exhibitors were recently juried into the Festival of Arts by a panel of seven knowledgeable artists and/or art experts which included mixed media artist Bruce Burr, photographer Nancy Holly, executive director of the Los Angeles Art Association Peter Mays, oil painter Elizabeth McGhee, watercolorist David Milton, animator and board member of the Chuck Jones Center John Ramirez, and ceramicist Fred Stodder.
“We are very excited to have fifteen of the eighteen new artists joining us for this exhibit,” said Director of Exhibits, Education and Permanent Collections Ron Morrissette. “This show presents a incredible array of artworks that reflect the creativity and high quality standards that have become synonymous with the Festival of Arts.”
This free exhibit is part of an ongoing series of shows that the Festival of Arts is having at Wells Fargo this year. The Wells Fargo building is at 260 Ocean Avenue, Laguna Beach and is open to the public Monday through Friday 9am – 6pm. and Saturday 9am – 4pm. The Festival of Arts is a non-profit organization whose proceeds go to support the arts in and about Laguna Beach.
