SECRETS TO STRESS MANAGEMENT REVEALED AT VITAS’ MONTHLY WORKSHOPS

Date:

VITAS Healthcare, the nation’s leading provider of end-of-life care, invites the community to “ThankFULL Thursdays,” a free, monthly self-care workshop taking place every third Thursday of the month from 6 to 8 p.m. at the VITAS Office, 310 Commerce, Ste. 200, Irvine, California 92602. Materials, refreshments and snacks provided.

Each month, a new secret to managing stress and grief will be revealed. On June 16, VITAS’ skilled experts will present “Taking Care of Me.” The VITAS team will discuss the importance of making time for yourself. They will explain the effects of stress on the body and mind, and share strategies that attendees can immediately implement in their lives, followed by a therapeutic drum-circle session.

VITAS’ specially trained team are experts in their respective fields. A compelling motivational speaker and author of two books—Finding Peace Amid the Chaos: My Escape from Depression and Suicide and The Seven Characters of Abuse: Domestic Violence, Where It Starts and Where It Can End—Tanya Brown, M.A., VITAS community liaison, will share her personal experience of dealing with grief after the loss of her sister. Board Certified Music Therapist Natalie Rodriguez, M.S.W., will share how music can be used as a tool to overcome grief and help to empower attendees’ physical, emotional, cognitive, social and spiritual needs.

VITAS Healthcare is dedicated to educating the community and equipping them with the tools they need to better cope with stress and grief. To register for one or all workshops or for more information, call Tanya Brown at 657-294-9674 or email Tanya.Brown@vitas.com.
