Forbes.com ranks AV in Top 25 Towns to Live Well

Aliso Viejo ranked one of America’s top 25 towns to live well

Aliso Viejo has been listed as one of “America’s Top 25 Towns to Live Well” by Forbes.com.

This city of more than 47,000, which boasts a median income of $96,586, ranked 16 among the top towns in the nation. The term “town” describes every city, town or borough with under 100,000 people.

Forbes teamed up with Zoom.Prospector.com, a San Francisco-based consulting firm specializing in corporate relocation. To rank each town, the firm looked at factors such as median income; average commute; distance to highways and airports; per capita venture capital funding; per capita number of small businesses; and percentage of population with a bachelor’s degree or higher, etc. The per capita number of restaurants, bars, museums and cultural institutions were also measured.

Aside from Aliso Viejo’s easy access to some of the state’s nicest beaches, Forbes.com said the city has “a dynamic, start-up business environment that attracts $1,246 venture capital dollars per capita.”

Mayor Donald Garcia was elated but not surprised by the news.

“We are honored by the recognition of Forbes.com, the Internet home of Forbes magazine, and one of the most widely visited business Web sites in the world. However, without sounding unappreciative, Forbes is simply reporting what the business owners and residents of Aliso Viejo have known for years,” Garcia said.

The city continues to focus on creating a sense of community and enhancing its quality of life. That includes improving mobility for all residents, with particular emphasis on walkable neighborhoods; fostering livability; enabling prosperity for all residents; and promoting sustainability for future generations. The city takes a visionary approach to implementing policies, programs, developments and more for the benefit of the community and its longevity.
