With temperatures and humidity soaring in Southern California, SeaWorld® San Diego is the place to be to cool off and have fun. Guests can sit in the soak zone section at many of the spectacular shows, or take a dip in chilly salt water with dolphins or beluga whales. SeaWorld’s animal interaction programs allow guests to enter the water with these beautiful animals for an additional fee. Learn about cold weather penguins that live in the 25-degree, snow-filled Penguin Encounter® while on a Penguins Up-Close Tour. Of course there’s always the real wet river-raft expedition enjoyed on Shipwreck Rapids® and Journey to Atlantis® water coaster for thrills that will chill! LAST CHANCE TO SEE SUMMER VIBES: SeaWorld’s Summer Vibes presented by Coca-Cola reverberating live entertainment in the park’s Mission Bay Theater continues Aug. 6–14 with the final act of the season: Fighting Gravity. This art troupe, originally from Blacksburg, Virginia, uses black light and illusions to amaze crowds all over the world. Fighting Gravity gained worldwide attention thanks in no small part to placing third out of over 100,000 contestants on the NBC prime-time TV series, “America’s Got Talent.” In the plaza just outside the theater, guests can be part of the good vibrations at Club Vibes, a nighttime party atmosphere pumping with dancing, fun lights and a DJ spinning Top 40 hits. CIRQUE DE LA MER FLIES AWAY: One of SeaWorld’s most popular seasonal shows, Cirque de la Mer, nears its final performances of this year with amazing acrobatic, aerial and trapeze artists’ performances on and over Mission Bay. New this year is pro hydro flight athlete Jake Orel, keeping guests on the edge of their seats at Cirque Stadium as he defies gravity. Propelled by a powerful stream of water, Orel is lifted out of the water as high as 30 feet to dive, flip and spin in a mind-bending aerial freestyle demonstration. Other acts include synchronized Chinese Poles set to music; an incredible exhibition of strength and flexibility in a Trampoline Wall act that has acrobats twist, bounce, and dismount into the water from a trampoline-supported stage; a performer who engages in miraculous acts in a fishnet 25 feet above the water; and a Duo Trapeze act performed by a husband-and-wife team suspended from a trapeze-bar cable. Cirque de la Mer continues on select dates through Aug. 14. For more information and to see show schedules visit https://seaworldparks.com/en/seaworld-sandiego/park-info/park-hours
