In honor of National Preparedness Month, the City of Aliso Viejo is urging residents to register with AlertOC, a mass notification system designed to keep Orange County residents and businesses informed of emergencies.
By registering with AlertOC, time-sensitive voice messages from the county or city of Aliso Viejo may be sent to your home, cell or business phone. Text messages may also be sent to cell phones, email accounts and hearing-impaired receiving devices. In fact, the county will test the system on Sept. 22 by sending out a call to residents throughout Orange County.
This system is essential during an emergency or disaster. In fact, mass notification systems have been attributed with saving lives during the 2007 Southern California wildfires by quickly notifying residents around the clock of evacuation instructions. Register today at www.AlertOC.com.
