Are you signed up for AlertOC?

Date:

With the magnitude 4.2 earthquake that struck near Malibu this week and high winds sparking wildfire warnings throughout the region, the City of Mission Viejo is reminding residents to sign up for AlertOC, a mass notification system designed to keep the public informed of earthquakes, wildfires and other local emergencies.

Mission Viejo – in 2008 – was one of the first cities to implement AlertOC– a county-wide notification system funded by the County. The system gives us the ability to communicate with residents and businesses about emergencies that may require immediate lifesaving actions.

Through AlertOC, time-sensitive voice messages from the County or City may be sent to your home, cell or business phone. Text messages may also be sent to cell phones, e-mail accounts and hearing-impaired receiving devices. You can register the whole family to ensure everyone stays safe.

To register, click this link or text AlertOC to 888777.
