The Mission Viejo Library is gearing up for its 2014 “PAWS to Read” SummerREAD program that kicks off July 1. The exciting summer reading program offers something for all ages – toddlers, children, teens, and adults.
Babies and toddlers are invited to participate (with an adult) in their own program designed to support the development of early literacy skills.
Free family entertainment programs include Bubblemania and an Animal Magic Show, which are scheduled for Saturday afternoons on July 12, 19, and 26. Teens are also welcome to take part in a digital photography challenge as a part of the program.
The adult SummerREAD program includes visits by two bestselling authors. Jojo Moyes, the author of “Me Before You,” will be at the library on Tuesday, July 15 at 12 p.m., to discuss her new book “One Plus One.” Maggie Shipstead, whose second novel “Astonish Me!” was recently published, makes an appearance on Thursday, July 17 at 7 p.m.
SummerREAD runs through July 31. All participants receive incentives for the amount of time that they spend reading during the month, and those who complete the program are entered in a grand prize drawing. Registration begins July 1 at the Mission Viejo Library, 100 Civic Center, or for more information visit the Library’s website at http://www.cmvl.org.
