2nd Annual “Crystal Apple Awards”

WHEN: Wednesday March 18, 2015, 7pm

 

On Wednesday, March 18, 2015 (7:00pm), Eight educators from four high schools in three south Orange County school districts will be recognized for their impact on students in their classes, nominated directly by the students.

Teachers from the Laguna Beach Unified, Capistrano Unified, and Saddleback Unified school districts will be presented with the second annual “Crystal Apple” award, personally presented by their nominating students.

This is second annual event of its kind in the cities of Laguna Beach, Aliso Viejo, Laguna Niguel, Dana Point, and Laguna Hills.  Several other communities throughout southern California have held Crystal Apple Awards for more than two decades.

Representatives from local cities, school board officials, and school administrators will be attending as well as making presentations at the community ceremony.

A featured musical performance by The Blue Lantern Vocal Jazz Ensemble from Dana Hills High School will perform.

The ceremony is open to the public. Representatives form local cities, school board officials and school administrators will also be in attendance.

The recipients of the 2015 Crystal Apple Awards are Kevin Dempsey and Paul Weinberger of Laguna Hills High School, Caroline Scauso and Keith Barnett of Aliso NIguel High School, Lauren Lindroth and Oz Simmons of Dana Hills High School and Janet Steel and Steven Sogo of Laguna Beach High School.

The event is open to the community and no invitation or RSVP is required.  The event is sponsored by the Laguna Niguel Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints , and will be held at its location at 22851 Aliso Creek Road, Aliso Viejo, CA.
