SEASONED DEVELOPMENT OFFICER, BARBARA POWERS, JOINS GIRL SCOUTS OF ORANGE COUNTY

Girl Scouts of Orange County (GSOC), the local council of the world’s premier leadership development experience for girls, welcomes Barbara Powers to its executive team as Vice President of Fund Development. In this role, Powers will oversee the organization’s fund development strategies, driving the community’s investment in helping every Orange County girl prepare for a lifetime of leadership, adventure, and success.

 

A resident of Lake Forest, Powers has over 20 years of successful fund development experience in Orange County, securing to date over $35 million in fundraising contributions. Best known for her 10-year tenure as Chief Development Officer at OneOC, Powers most recently served as Chief Development Officer at Make-A-Wish Orange County and the Inland Empire. Earlier, she worked with YMCA of Orange County and American Red Cross Orange County and American Red Cross Blood Services. Powers is highly experienced in major gifts, capital campaigns, planned gifts, sponsorships, and events.

 

A Girl Scout growing up, Powers shared, “I believe strongly in Girl Scouts’ mission of building girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place, and am excited to champion the community’s vital support of one of our most important resources, the next generation of female leaders. Girl Scouts instills responsibility and integrity, courage and adventure, compassion and friendships, entrepreneurship and service, all providing life skills our youth need today and in their future.”
