Check out the latest happenings at SeaWorld San Diego – DECEMBER 2015

Date:

SHOP WITH A COP: As part of this year’s Shop with a Cop, sponsored by San Diego law enforcement agencies, SeaWorld® San Diego, STAR/PAL and Target, more than 300 economically disadvantaged children will enjoy breakfast and a private show at SeaWorld before embarking on a $150 holiday shopping spree at Target Saturday, Dec. 5.

After enjoying breakfast and The Pets Rule Christmas show that features animals adopted from shelters, the children will ride with their assigned officers in patrol cars, with lights flashing and sirens blaring, from the marine park’s parking lot to Target where they’ll “shop with a cop” for holiday gifts for themselves and family members.

In its 22nd year, Shop with a Cop provides not only holiday gifts for less fortunate families, but also a positive interaction with local law enforcement officers. SeaWorld San Diego has proudly participated in Shop with a Cop for 18 years.

TOYS FOR TOTS AT SEAWORLD Now through Dec. 13 SeaWorld San Diego is partnering with the Marine Corps Reserves San Diego Toys for Tots Program to deliver a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters through a new, unwrapped toy at Christmas. Guests can donate a toy (suggested retail value of $10 or more) at SeaWorld and receive a free child single-day admission with a full-paid single-day adult admission. Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) charity that has been delivering smiles and toys to families since 1948. For more information visit: www.SeaWorldSanDiego.com.

SEAWORLD’S CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION CONTINUES: The delightful, high-energy excitement of the Christmas season is in full swing at SeaWorld®. This year, SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration® has a flurry of new festivities that include special holiday-themed animal shows, characters and more. New this year is a special show starring everyone’s favorite Sesame Street characters as they share with Abby their favorite Christmas traditions in A Sesame Street Christmas. Returning this year is the nighttime show Shamu Christmas Miracles® starring none other than Shamu and featuring a powerful vocalist and a story of peace; and Dolphin Island Christmas, a daytime Christmas-themed dolphin show that celebrates the holidays with a tropical twist.

Also returning are The Pets Rule® Christmas show, featuring animals adopted from shelters, and Clyde & Seamore’s Christmas Special starring the prank-loving pinnipeds.

Guests can mingle with Santa’s elves and Mrs. Claus and every day before Christmas and get a photo with Santa at Santa’s Christmas Village. Plus, Mrs. Claus invites everyone to join her in a spirited sing-along to help her and the elves light a festive 40-foot animated tree. The marine park is decked out more than ever before with more than 1.5 million low-energy holiday lights; Christmas décor throughout the park; and SeaWorld’s 320-foot Skytower Christmas Tree of Lights. SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration runs through Jan. 3. For more information visit www.SeaWorldSanDiego.com.

POINSETTIA BOWL AND HOLIDAY BOWL TEAM DAYS: Teams participating in San Diego’s Poinsettia Bowl and Holiday Bowl will get in a festive mood before their college football bowl games at Qualcomm Stadium by spending Team Days at SeaWorld.  Players, coaches and staff from both of the Poinsettia Bowl-bound teams will visit SeaWorld on Monday, Dec. 21, while both Holiday Bowl teams will enjoy a day of fun animal adventures at the park on Sunday, Dec. 27.

HOLIDAY GIFTS AT SEAWORLD SAN DIEGO: Anyone on the search for the perfect holiday gift to be cherished forever by a marine mammal lover needs to check out SeaWorld®. The marine park has a host of up-close animal encounters, such as animal interaction programs where participants enter the water with beluga whales and bottlenose dolphins, touch a penguin, feed turtles and meet many more intriguing critters. The best way to enjoy SeaWorld all year long is with a Fun Card.

Those who purchase a 2016 SeaWorld Fun Card now can enjoy all of SeaWorld’s Christmas festivities in 2015, plus come back again and again in 2016 and enjoy all of SeaWorld’s amazing seasonal events, including: Lunar New Year, Wild Days, Magic Weekends, SeaWorld® Seven Seas Food Festival, Summer Nights at SeaWorld®, Summer Vibes, Fiestas Patrias, SeaWorld’s Halloween Spooktacular® and SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration—all for the price of single-day admission (with limited blackout dates).
