CVES TEACHER OF THE YEAR
Congratulations to Ms. Colleen Kotel for being voted as Crown Valley’s 2013 Teacher of the Year! Each year, Capistrano Unified teachers vote for their peer that has made the biggest impact on students’ lives. This year, CVES teachers selected Ms. Kotel, a teacher the deaf and hard of hearing for preschool students. A native of Chicago, Ms. Kotel decided to move to California over 10 years ago to follow her dream of being a DHH teacher and work in our community. A life-long learner herself, Ms. Kotel never
stops taking classes that will increase her effectiveness in the classroom. The staff of Crown Valley Elementary is proud to name Colleen Kotel CVES Teacher Of the Year.
BATTLE OF THE BOOKS
Crown Valley students will have the opportunity to do battle once again during theBattle of the Books! Students read the selected titles listed on the Battle of the Bookslist. Next, working as a team, the students answer questions based upon their reading. Crown Valley Elementary will be doing against Oak Grove Elementary again this year.
TREAT DAY FRIDAYS
The Crown Valley PTA is making treats available for students after school each Friday. Jamba Juice, cupcakes, and Otter Pops will be sold on a revolving schedule. . . you never know just what the treat will be! Proceeds benefit CVES 5th Outdoor Science Camp Foundation.
