Nabi’s strong work ethic and commitment to the city has earned him the respect of peers, supervisors and community members.

Assigned to the city of Aliso Viejo since 2012, Nabi, who was born in Karachi, Pakistan, currently works patrol in the Special Enforcement Team and is part of the Critical Incident Response Team. He is known as “proactive, aggressive, professional and knowledgeable.”

A mentor and role model, this dedicated deputy is also recognized by his supervisors as “a seasoned deputy who makes rational decisions” and as “a team player willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done.” It’s that kind of praise that continues to pepper Nabi’s employee file.

For his efforts in keeping Aliso Viejo’s streets safe, Nabi received the Mothers Against Drunk Driving Award for arresting 28 DUI drivers in 2014.

“Deputy Nabi gives 100 percent every day to our community,” said Lt. John MacPherson, Chief of Police Services. “He has most definitely been instrumental in making Aliso Viejo one of the safest communities in the state. He is most deserving of the recognition as 2015 Deputy of the Year for the City of Aliso Viejo.”
