Free Tax Filing Workshops begin in February

The Aliso Viejo Family Resource Center is teaming up with the United Way and IRS to host free tax filing workshops beginning Feb. 23 for low-income families. Families of four that earned less than $50,270 in 2012 could qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC).

The tax filing workshops are from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, March 2, and April 6 at the Aliso Viejo Family Resource Center, 24671 Via Iglesia. The programs will be offered in English and Spanish.

Participants should bring their Social Security cards, W-2, 1099 and 1098 forms along with childcare provider information, a photo ID and copy of their 2011 tax returns.
