Thousands of Third-graders to Celebrate Orange County’s History at Angel Stadium on December 6th

Local History will come to life in Star-studded Educational Program for Orange County’s Children Schools from Across Orange County will be Represented

Anaheim, CA – Thousands of Orange County third-graders will once again converge upon Angel Stadium on the morning of Thursday, December 6th for the annual Gift of History celebration.

 

The educational program will teach students about Orange County’s rich history in an interactive and fun way, and include presentations from celebrities, elected officials and regional education leaders. See attached image from last year’s event.

 

WHAT: The Gift of History – An Educational Program

 

WHO: The current list of presenters includes:

  • · Gail Eastman, Anaheim City Councilmember, author of Anna’s Home by the River, and Chairman of the Children’s Education Foundation of Orange County
  • · Gaddi Vazquez, former Ambassador to the Vatican and member of the Orange County Board of Supervisors
  • · Stan Oftelie, author of Nothing Rhymes with Orange
  • · Jose Mota, Angels broadcaster and former Major League Baseball and Cal State Fullerton player
  • · And a surprise star emcee!

 

WHEN: Tuesday, December 6, 2012 Press Arrival: 9 – 9:45 a.m. (Photo wells, audio hookups and on-field access will be provided.) Event: 10 – 11 a.m.

 

WHERE: Angel Stadium, Anaheim, CA

Media entrance off of State College Blvd. entrance

Press passes will be available upon arrival

 

The Gift of History is a partnership between the Orange County Education Foundation and several key sponsors including: Kaiser Permanente, Schools First Federal Credit Union, Disneyland Resort, Orange County Department of Education, Angels Baseball and the City of Anaheim.
